What is Present Indefinite Tense? (वर्तमान सरल काल क्या है?)
👉 Present Indefinite Tense उन वाक्यों में प्रयोग किया जाता है, जो सामान्य घटनाओं, आदतों, दिनचर्या, सार्वभौमिक सत्य, और निश्चित कार्यों को दर्शाते हैं।
👉 Sentence Structure (वाक्य संरचना):
✅ Subject + Verb I (Base Form) + Object (सकारात्मक वाक्य)
✅ Subject + Do/Does + Not + Verb I + Object (नकारात्मक वाक्य)
✅ Do/Does + Subject + Verb I + Object + ? (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य)
Uses of Present Indefinite Tense with Examples in English & Hindi
(i) Habitual Actions (नियमित कार्य/आदतें)
👉 जब कोई कार्य नियमित रूप से किया जाता है, तो Present Indefinite Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
✅ Examples:
- Cats drink milk. (बिल्ली दूध पीती है।)
- I like music. (मुझे संगीत पसंद है।)
- She smokes in the garden. (वह बगीचे में धूम्रपान करती है।)
- I always work at night. (मैं हमेशा रात में काम करता हूँ।)
(ii) Permanent Activity (स्थायी कार्य/स्थायी स्थिति)
👉 जब कोई कार्य लंबे समय से जारी है और स्थायी है।
✅ Examples:
- He works in this office. (वह इस दफ्तर में काम करता है।)
- They live in a very nice flat. (वे एक बहुत अच्छे फ्लैट में रहते हैं।)
(iii) With Adverbs & Adverb Phrases (Adverbs और उनके वाक्यांशों के साथ प्रयोग)
👉 जब वाक्य में निम्नलिखित adverbs आते हैं:
(always, daily, generally, never, normally, rarely, seldom, sometimes, often, usually, every week, every year, etc.)
✅ Examples:
- My father never drinks coffee. (मेरे पिता कभी कॉफी नहीं पीते।)
- I go to church on Sundays. (मैं रविवार को चर्च जाता हूँ।)
- Ram never tells a lie. (राम कभी झूठ नहीं बोलता।)
- They visit the zoo every Saturday. (वे हर शनिवार चिड़ियाघर जाते हैं।)
(iv) With Time Clauses (समय वाक्यांशों के साथ)
✅ Examples:
- Whenever it rains, the roof leaks. (जब भी बारिश होती है, छत टपकने लगती है।)
- When you open the door, a light goes on. (जब तुम दरवाजा खोलते हो, तो एक लाइट जल जाती है।)
(v) With Verb ‘Say’ (Say क्रिया के साथ प्रयोग)
👉 जब हम किसी कथन को उद्धृत करते हैं या कहने की क्रिया को दर्शाते हैं।
✅ Examples:
- Ram says, “Birds fly and fish swim.” (राम कहता है, “पक्षी उड़ते हैं और मछलियाँ तैरती हैं।”)
- The Bible says, “Love of money is the root cause of all evils.” (बाइबिल कहती है, “धन का लोभ सभी बुराइयों की जड़ है।”)
(vi) Newspaper Headlines (समाचार पत्रों की सुर्खियों में)
✅ Examples:
- PEACE TALKS FAIL. (शांति वार्ता विफल।)
- MASS MURDERER ESCAPES. (सामूहिक हत्यारा भाग निकला।)
(vii) In Notices (सूचनाओं में प्रयोग)
✅ Examples:
- The notice indicates: No talking. (सूचना में लिखा है: बात करना मना है।)
(viii) For Dramatic Narrative (नाटकीय वर्णन के लिए)
✅ Examples:
- Laxmi Bai now rides a horse and leads her army. (लक्ष्मी बाई अब घोड़े पर सवार होकर अपनी सेना का नेतृत्व करती हैं।)
- Alexander now leads his men through the Ganges region. (अलेक्जेंडर अब अपने सैनिकों को गंगा क्षेत्र से आगे ले जाता है।)
(ix) In Commentaries (टिप्पणियों में प्रयोग)
✅ Examples:
- Sita takes the ball again, and she throws it into the basket. (सीता फिर से गेंद उठाती है और उसे टोकरी में डाल देती है।)
(x) For a Planned Future (निश्चित भविष्य के लिए)
👉 जब कोई कार्य निश्चित रूप से भविष्य में होने वाला हो।
✅ Examples:
- I start my new job on Monday. (मैं सोमवार को अपनी नई नौकरी शुरू करता हूँ।)
- Our school opens in the month of April. (हमारा स्कूल अप्रैल के महीने में खुलता है।)
(xi) Time Table & Daily Routine (समय-सारणी और दिनचर्या)
✅ Examples:
- Train leaves at midnight. (ट्रेन आधी रात को रवाना होती है।)
- The plane takes off at 9 a.m. (विमान सुबह 9 बजे उड़ान भरता है।)
(xii) With State Verbs (State Verbs के साथ प्रयोग)
👉 कुछ विशेष verbs, जो किसी स्थिति को दर्शाते हैं, Present Indefinite में प्रयोग किए जाते हैं।
✅ Examples:
- I love you. (मैं तुमसे प्यार करता हूँ।)
- The farmers own the land. (किसान भूमि के मालिक हैं।)
(xiii) Conditional Sentences (शर्तीय वाक्य)
👉 जब मुख्य वाक्य Future Tense में हो, लेकिन subordinate clause Present Indefinite में हो।
✅ Examples:
- He will stay here until you come back. (वह यहाँ रहेगा जब तक तुम वापस नहीं आ जाते।)
- If it rains, she will not come. (अगर बारिश होगी, तो वह नहीं आएगी।)
(xiv) Universal & General Truth (सार्वभौमिक एवं सामान्य सत्य)
✅ Examples:
- Water boils at 100º Celsius. (पानी 100º सेल्सियस पर उबलता है।)
- The earth revolves around the sun. (पृथ्वी सूर्य के चारों ओर घूमती है।)
(xv) In Phrases Like ‘I Promise/I Agree’ (विशेष वाक्यांशों में)
✅ Examples:
- I promise I will pay you back. (मैं वादा करता हूँ कि मैं तुम्हें वापस पैसे दूँगा।)
(xvi) Exclamatory Sentences (विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य)
✅ Examples:
- Here he comes! (लो, वह आ गया!)
- There he lives! (वह वहाँ रहता है!)
